You must have a properly configured NIC (network interface card) within your PC.  

Configuring your computer for DSL with NAT (Private IPs) 

With the information provided in your packet, there are IP addresses that must be configured within your PC. This is accomplished through the Control Panel under the Network applet.  Open your Control Panel and Double Click on the Network icon. Within this window, select the TCP/IP protocol for your network card and then click on properties. The initial screen is where the IP address of you workstation is set.  

Enter the first workstation IP address. NAT IP addresses are 172.16.1.2 through 172.16.1.254.You must also configure the Subnet Mask in this window that is 255.255.255.0  

The next step is to configure the workstation’s gateway. To configure this, click on the Gateway tab within the TCP/IP window. Enter 172.16.1.1 under the words “New gateway”. After entering the address, click the add button. The gateway address should now be displayed under “Installed gateways”. 

Now you must configure DNS. Click on the DNS Configuration tab within the TCP/IP window. Click the Enable DNS radio button. For the Host Name, you can simply enter “NONE” and the same for domain. Next, enter 162.33.130.105 where is says DNS Server Search Order and then click on Add. Also, add 162.33.144.100 to the server list.  After you have successfully entered this information, click on OK. 

After clicking OK, you will return to the Network window. Click OK and the machine will begin to copy some files and you will then be prompted to restart your computer in order for the changes to take effect. (you may be prompted for a windows 95/98 cd) Once the computer has restarted, your first workstation should be functional on the Internet. You will need to follow these steps on every workstation that you want to use the DSL. The only change will be the IP address. Each workstation will get the next IP address in numerical order.
